Thieves Charged in Robbery at Joe Burrow’s $7.5 Million Ohio Home ‘Posed for Photos With Stolen Luxury Luggage and Diamond Jewelry’

A group of men who were arrested and charged in connection with a robbery at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow‘s $7.5 million Ohio home have been accused of posing for photos with an array of luxury goods that are believed to have been stolen from the property.

Authorities estimate that around $300,000 worth of goods were taken from the property during the Dec. 9 break-in, including Burrow’s “JB9” and “#9” diamond necklaces—which were designed in honor of his jersey number.

Chilean nationals Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, 22, Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, 23, and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, 38, were indicted in a federal court in Cincinnati on Feb. 5—two months after they allegedly broke into 28-year-old Burrow’s home while he was in Texas for a game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The indictment came just one day before Burrow attended the NFL Honors, where he lost out on the MVP award to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

A statement issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Ohio revealed that the three men were busted during a routine traffic stop several days after the robbery took place. Analysis of a phone belonging to one of the men indicated that he had “deleted photographs of the stolen goods and the back of the victim’s home” during the traffic stop, authorities allege.

Photos “of the defendants in southeast Florida days after the burglary with luxury luggage and wearing the stolen jewelry” were also found during this analysis. One image shows a fourth man posing with the arrested parties.

U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker said in a statement that authorities believe the men are linked to a South American “theft group” responsible for “committing crimes throughout our district and elsewhere.”

“We owe it to the victims, whether they are or are not professional athletes, to follow the evidence into these alleged criminal networks and hold the law-breakers accountable,” the statement, which was released by Parker’s office, went on. 

“I cannot thank our law enforcement partners enough for their commitment to working together to track down these perpetrators. Today is a day that law enforcement scored and spiked the ball.”

Authorities believe the alleged thieves broke into Burrow’s residence during a security detail shift change at around 6PM on Dec. 9, 2024. Security cameras were then found to contain video footage of “a man carrying luggage and walking through the wooded area behind the home.”

“It is believed the burglary likely occurred between 6PM and 8PM,” the press release explains. “The homeowner was away from his residence playing in an NFL game in Dallas.

“During a security detail shift change at the home at approximately 6PM, security personnel walked the perimeter of the house and no windows appeared to be broken at that time.”

The men were arrested when a special agent in Ohio spotted “four male Chileans” carrying luggages while leaving a La Quinta Hotel in Fairborn, OH, on Jan. 10.

The arrests made in connection with the burglary at Burrow’s home are understood to be part of a much wider investigation into a series of robberies that have taken place at properties belonging to several high-profile athletes, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Not long after Kelce and Mahomes’ Kansas City properties were burglarized, the NFL issued a warning to players that a South American crime gang might be targeting the league’s biggest stars.

Burrow later broke his silence about the robbery, admitting that he felt as though his privacy had been “violated,” while adding that he did not wish to share any other information.

Following the burglary, it was revealed that Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Olivia Ponton was in the house at the time and dialed 911.

She told police: “Someone broke into my house. It’s like completely messed up. … Can we please send more people?”

Burrow purchased the 7,300-square-foot, four-bedroom home in Cincinnati for $7.5 million in January 2024.

According to the listing, the home features 12 rooms in all, is made from stucco, and was built in 2016.
