Josh Hall Lashes Out at Christina Haack and Tells Her to ‘Shut Up’ in Furious Spat on ‘The Flip Off’: ‘My Wife Is Pissing Me Off’
Bitterly estranged exes Christina Haack and Josh Hall are seen getting into an ugly spat in a new sneak peek of their upcoming HGTV show, “The Flip Off,” which began filming as their marriage started to crumble.
In a new clip from the series—which premieres Jan. 29—Josh, 44, is seen losing his cool at Haack, 41, while the two are discussing the competitive nature of the show, in which the two of them were meant to go head to head in a renovation competition against her former spouse, Tarek El Moussa, and his new wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.
The pair are seen driving to look at one of their projects, while Hall is attempting to get Haack in the fighting spirit.
“This is a competition, we’ve got to pull out all the stops,” he says. “Whatever it takes to win, I’ll do it. Halls rule.”
When Haack maintains a stony silence, Hall begins to get riled up, telling his then-wife: “You’re supposed to say it with me, or repeat it, or something that shows that you’re with me.
“Remember, you’re a Hall now,” he says. “Don’t get confused in this competition about what your last name is.”
Still, Haack says nothing, letting out an exasperated sigh, to which Hall responds: “You’re rude.”
“Because I don’t over talk,” she responds, prompting her spouse to launch into another rant: “The s**t you say, and I’m just like, I wish you’d shut up already. My wife is pissing me off already.”
Haack asks, “Ugh, are we there yet?” before the video cuts to a clip of her telling Tarek that she and Hall have officially split.
Haack and Hall initially signed up to take part in “The Flip Off” together, with the series, which is a spinoff of her and Tarek’s popular show “Flip or Flop,” initially billed as a couples’ head-to-head competition between the Halls and the El Moussas.
However, after Haack and Hall called time on their relationship in July, HGTV removed Hall from all promotional material, while Haack reverted back to her maiden name in all press releases for the series.
In a previously released clip, Haack was seen breaking down in tears as she opened up to Tarek about the breakdown of her marriage, admitting to him that things between her and Hall had become so toxic that her children had actually begged her to leave him.
“We had a blowup—middle fingers in my face,” she says, tearing up. “Things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”
“The kids literally asked me to leave,” she goes on. “They told me he’s not nice to me, why would I stick around. I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time, and I just can’t get out of it.”
In tears, Haack admits to Tarek that her life has been in turmoil “since 2016″—two years before their marriage came to an end—before candidly apologizing to him for the “s—” she has done.
“Everything since 2016 has been so hard and so horrible,” she says. “It’s really taken a really bad toll on me. I’m really sorry for the s— I do, I really do.”
Her breakdown leaves Tarek reeling—and he appears to be choking back tears as he confesses his feelings of guilt over her difficult experiences, taking ownership of the part he has played in her turmoil.
“I understand that feeling of being a little bit lost,” he says. “And I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this.”
Since Haack and Hall announced they were splitting over the summer, their divorce proceedings have gone from bad to worse, with both involved in some very public mudslinging, both in court and on social media.
Toward the end of 2024, Hall tried to block Haack from selling her $4.5 million farmhouse in Tennessee, where he had been living since moving out of their shared $12 million mansion in Newport Beach, CA.
In court documents filed by Hall’s lawyers as part of a temporary emergency order to try to halt the sale of the home, he claimed that, while Haack bought the house before they married, the “paydown of the mortgage during marriage” entitles him to a say in what becomes of the dwelling.
“The community maintains an appreciation interest due to the paydown of the mortgage during marriage,” he writes. “A premature sale may result in prejudice to me as property values continue to rise in Tennessee, which continues to grow in population.”
He further claimed that Haack had asked for his “written agreement” to sell the home on Sept. 23 but insists that he refused.
However, while the home was temporarily taken off the market, it has since been relisted with the same asking price.
